Movie Blog 50 - "Spy" - Action, Comedy, Crime

Melissa McCarthy never fails to bring the laughs, and this film is no exception. However, fair warning, there are moments in the movie that I'd suggest avoiding while eating – you'll understand why once you give it a watch.

True to its title, the movie revolves around a spy, and yes, you guessed it right – Melissa McCarthy takes on the role of the spy. What makes it unique is that she's not your typical spy; she transitions from behind the scenes to the frontline. The question looms: will she successfully accomplish the mission, or will her antics go so hilariously wrong that you'll find yourself laughing so hard you momentarily forget she's a spy? This film is a perfect blend of action and comedy, showcasing Melissa McCarthy's comedic prowess in a spy setting.

Movie Blog 49 - "Saving Mr. Banks" - Biography, Comedy, Drama

Approaching this film, I had no clear expectations, and yet, it turned out to be a truly captivating watch. Despite my familiarity with Mary Poppins, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a heartfelt story behind the creation of this beloved character. The woman behind Mary Poppins, far from the happy and adventurous figure one might imagine, had endured significant heartache and carried a somber past.

Delving into her life and understanding the genesis of Mary Poppins was nothing short of brilliant. The film not only sheds light on the creation of a timeless character but also provides insights into the complex and challenging life of the creator. Additionally, it offers a glimpse into the persona of Walt Disney himself.

This movie has reshaped my perspective on Mary Poppins, and I'll never view the classic in the same way. It's a testament to the power of storytelling when it reveals the depth and complexity behind the characters we hold dear.
